Rank Anything

Decisions made simple.

Because ranking your favorite movies, restaurants, or life priorities shouldn't require a spreadsheet and a statistics degree.

The Method

How Ranks a Lot! Works

Trying to rank more than a handful of items is cognitively overwhelming. Should your third-favorite restaurant really be above your fourth? How do you even compare a cozy Italian spot to a trendy sushi bar?

Ranks a Lot! breaks this down into the simplest possible question: which one do you prefer?

By showing you just two items at a time, the app lets your intuition guide you. No agonizing over complex trade-offs—just quick, honest choices that reveal your true preferences over time.

The ELO Rating System

Behind each comparison is the ELO algorithm—the same system used to rank chess players worldwide. When you pick a winner:

  • The winner gains points, the loser loses some
  • Upsets (low-ranked beats high-ranked) cause bigger swings
  • Ratings converge on your true preferences over time

New items start at 1000 ELO. After ~20-30 comparisons per item, rankings stabilize remarkably well.

Lightning Fast

One tap to choose. Keyboard shortcuts for power users. No friction.

Battle-Tested Algorithm

ELO has ranked millions of chess players. Now it ranks your lists.

Clear Winners

Watch your true preferences emerge from simple A/B choices.
